A brief overview
RRM Ltd has been in operation since 1993 and is based at the former Merck BDH Central chemical distribution centre. This comprises a 20,000 sq.ft. purpose built handling facility now used for recycling and aggregation purposes.
RRM Ltd has the following safety/health and environment management systems in place and are available for inspection by arrangement.
- Quality Procedure for all aspects of our work. This includes procedures, day to day work instructions, supervision levels and forms.
- Health, Safety and the Environment (HSE) Statement.
- HSE procedures for all aspects of our work. This includes procedures, day to day work instructions, supervision levels, risk assessments by area and hazard operational risk assessments.
- We are externally audited by our clients and by the environment agency on a regular basis. Copies of these results are available.
- We have a liason group with the local fire service and we meet on a minimum of a monthly basis. This is recorded.
- We have an Initial electronic constant monitoring system for our fire detection system. A carbon dioxide suppression system and a comprehensive range of fire extinguishers reinforce this. These along with our call points, fire doors, fire blankets and hose reels are checked regularly by external inspectors and internally on a regular basis. Again all this is documented. Furthermore, we have regular docuented fire drills.
- We have an Initial Electronic Security 24 hour monitored system. The site is surrounded by chain link fence (2m) topped with three-strand barbwire. The windows are all barred to pharmaceutical standards, as are the doors. The gates are kept locked unless we are unloading vehicles and drivers buzz into our site. The main warehouse is keypad locked as well.
The gates and fencing are inspected and recorded everyday in accordance with our Environment Agency instructions.
